Four lanes, one add
Four players finish a round, and each of them earns the same bonus. The starter reads the four scores and then the bonus (12 30 7 25 and 5 in the stdin box) into memory. Add the bonus to all four scores with one vector add, then total the new scores with addv.
Load the scores into the lanes of v0 with ld1, and put the bonus in every lane of v1 with dup. printf reads its %d values from w registers and may change any v register, so copy the lanes out with mov w1, v2.s[0] and the like, and keep the total in total_r before the first call. The vectors lesson shows each of these instructions.
What is checked
- the four new scores print on one line, and the total on the next
- the program exits cleanly
- the work is done in the lanes (
ld1,dupandaddv), and the total is not hardcoded - the same holds for other scores you do not see, negative scores and a bonus of 0 or below among them
